Hanson graduated from Central HS in Syracuse and Syracuse University. A four-sport high school star, he led Central to the N. Y. State title in 1921. At Syracuse, Vic was a nine-letter man and three-sport captain in 1926-1927. He was also a Basketball All-American in 1925,1926, and 1927. He led the Syracuse 1926 team to a national title. He was also a great pro with the Cleveland Rosenblums. He played baseball with the N.Y. Yankees and coached football at Syracuse.
