Dave Archer

Founder of the Basketball Coaches Association of New York, Inc. (BCANY) He has served as the Executive Director of BCANY for over thirty years. His coaching background includes coaching at all levels of high school as well as head coaching at the collegiate Division III level. His vision and leadership were instrumental in establishing the Virtual Hall of Fame. Dave has been honored at the local, state and national levels for his tireless work for the coaches and game of basketball.

Shannon Archer

Shannon is a recent graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Amherst’s Sport Management Master’s program, Shannon joins BCANY to oversee special projects including sponsorship initiatives and website design. She comes with experience working with the American Cancer Society’s Coaches vs. Cancer program, NBC Sports at the 2010 Summer Dew Tour and 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, and with the Baltimore Orioles Corporate Sales and Sponsorship Department.

Jackie Ward

Jackie attended Binghamton University on a Basketball scholarship from 2007-2011. In a addition to a fine career at Binghamton, Jackie volunteered to work at various basketball camps and clinics. After graduating in the spring of 2011 with a B.A. degree in English, she accepted an Assistant Coaching position at Nazareth College where she continues her graduate studies in Education. Jackie has been instrumental in the construction, creative design and organization of the concepts for VHOF.

Dan Hall

Dan had been involved with the Hall of Fame since 1992, when he and Brian Beaury, head coach of the College of St. Rose Men’s Basketball team, got together to build a display for the Hall of Fame in the Glens Falls Civic Center. Dan has been a member of the State Basketball Tournament Committee for 20 years and has been a member of the Tournament’s Bid Committee for 16 years. Dan is a small business owner (Hallwear) in Glens Falls and an avid basketball fan.

Chris Russo

Boy’s basketball coach at Monticello H.S. Chris serves as the BCANY President, and also represents Section 9 Boys. He is a Project Coordinator for the Virtual Hall of Fame. As a Project Coordinator, Chris developed and now monitors the criteria used for selecting the Outstanding Players, Teams and Moments sections. He also oversees the selection process.

Ben Nelson

Ben Nelson has served on the BCANY Board of Directors since the founding of the organization. He currently is an Assistant Executive Director involved in most aspects of BCANY. He represents Section IV Boys. He coached at Oxford Academy, Plattsburg State, Colgate University, Bainbridge-Guilford. He currently is the Interscholastic Sports Co

Al Monaco

Al is heavily involved in almost all operational aspects of BCANY. He is the head coach at Williamsville South High School where he is also a Health teacher. Basketball League Chairman of ECIC Division II, Section VI Boy’s Basketball Committee, Director of BCANY-ADPRO Western New York Basketball Showcase. He has also coached Golf and Softball.

Bryanna Merrill

Bryanna is a current Binghamton University student, and works alongside the Executive Board of BCANY to coordinate sponsorships, manage digital marketing campaigns, and design websites.
