Risa Zander, long time coach at Sachem and Commack High Schools, is the first ever Suffolk County women’s coach to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. In over twenty-one years of coaching she has won 338 games including nine league, four Sectional, two Regional and one state title. She has been involved with the Maccabiah Games, the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association of which she is a co-founder and past president, and BCANY. She has coached in the Empire State Games wining Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. Risa is also a co-founder of the Suffolk 100 Basketball Clinic.
