Kenmore West High School, Section 6

 

Coach Richard Harvey coached his team to 446 wins over thirty-four seasons, winning 65% of the games played. His teams won nine League, four Sectional and one State Western Conference titles. He also coached in the Empire State Games with the Western Region Scholastic Team, winning one gold, two silver and two bronze medals. He has lectured at many camps and clinics, and has written articles for coaching magazines, and has published two books. He is a member of the Kenmore West HS and the Greater Buffalo Sports Halls of Fame. He served on the BCANY Board of Directors, and has received the Town of Tonawanda Community Service Award. He has won many awards from various organizations, and the “Richard Harvey Tip-Off Tournament” is played annually at Kenmore West HS.
