Neil Kerr is the Editor and Publisher of the New York State Sportswriters Association News. He initiated the rankings of high school basketball teams in New York State. He has published the state rankings for boys’ teams since 1969. Kerr’s efforts had a huge impact in restarting the state basketball tournament. Kerr’s work generates remarkable interest. He is probably the most influential sportswriter for basketball in New York State. He also has been doing high school football rankings since 1969. He has been inducted into the New York Wrestling Hall of Fame.
