Sr. Maria Pares, 2012

Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart & Canisius College

 

In her 26 years at Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart (1973-­‐96 and 1999-­‐present), Coach Pares directed her teams to a combined record of 479-­‐70 including 127 straight wins. She has made six NYS appearances, won fifteen Diocesan championships, the NYSCHAA championship and the NYS Federation championship. At Canisius College (1981-­‐86),Sr. Maria had a record of 108-­‐39. They were the AIAW State Champions and made an appearance in the Division II NCAA Quarter Finals (1982). A member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Penance and Christian Charity, Sr. Maria is a member of the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame, the Canisius College Hall of Fame and the Sacred Heart Academy Hall of Fame.
