Dolph Schayes, 1994

Player, Coach

 

Schayes played high school ball at Dewitt Clinton HS in NYC and entered NYU when he was only 16 and became an All-American. At NYU, as a freshman, he led his team to the NCAA Final Four. He joined the Syracuse Nationals of the NBA in 1948. Dolph was an NBA All-Star 12 times and led the Syracuse Nationals to the 1955 Championship. He coached the Philadelphia 76ers and the Buffalo Braves. He was the NBA Coach of the Year with the 76ers in 1965-1966.
