Nanuet HS & Tuxedo HS, Section 9

 

Coach Dave Powers has well over 350 wins over twenty-two seasons. His teams win over 70% of their games. He has led teams to Sectional titles at two different schools and led two different schools to the state semi-finals. He has been honored as Coach of the Year by the league, county, media and BCANY. He was one of the co-founders of the Rockland County Basketball Coaches Association. He started the Section 9 Girls Basketball Coaches Association. In addition to coaching in the Empire State Games he has also coordinated the girls portion of the BCANY All Star Games. He coached his sister Norinne who was Miss NY Basketball in 1989 at Nanuet H.S.
