South Jefferson, Section 3

 

​In just 16 years, Coach Pat Bassett's girls' teams amassed 337 wins and just 40 defeats (89%) including a 274-16 mark (95%) during his final 12 years at South Jefferson.  His teams won 13 consecutive Frontier League titles, 8 Section 3 titles, participated in 5 NYS Final Fours, and won two NYSPHSAA Class B Championships.  Pat was awarded Coach of the Year multiple times at the League, Section, and State levels.  Early in his career, he served as a boys' coach and also assisted at the collegiate level.  In addition to his coaching duties, Pat was a member of the Section 3 Basketball Committee and a dedicated physics teacher at both South Jefferson and Edwards-Knox Central Schools.
