Coach Ken Kern led his teams to 375 victories during a 29 year career at Fort Hamilton HS.  His teams made 18 playoff appearances, winning 8 divisional championships.  Coach Kern earned numerous honors over the years, including 1977 Mc Donald's Award, as game coach; 1985 Coach of the year from the New York Daily News.  During his 29 years at the Fort, he fought to get many of his players into the best colleges with a full 4-year scholarship (including Bernard and Albert King).   The court at Fort Hamilton HS was named to honor this legendary Public School Athletic League coach.
