Coach Buddy Wleklinski has coached for more than thirty years with his teams winning over 445 games.  During his tenure, the Brothers have won nine league and six Section III championships, advanced to the Final Four three times, and captured the NYSPHSAA State Championship in 1997.  He has been honored as Coach of the Year at the local, Section and State levels.  In 1996 and 1997 he coached the Central Scholastic Basketball team to back to back gold medals in the Empire State Games and then served as the ESG State Chairman of Scholastic Mens’ Basketball from 1998 – 2010.  He is currently a member of the BCANY Board of Directors, a coordinator of the BCANY Summer Hoops Festival, and directs the New York State All Star game held at the State Fair.  Buddy is also the school's director of athletics and is active on many league, sectional, and state committees. He was inducted into the Christian Brothers Academy Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004 and, in 2008, the school’s basketball court was officially named Buddy Wleklinski Court.
