Bob DeBonis, 2010

East Meadow HS, Bellmore Kennedy HS & Freeport HS

 

Bob DeBonis has coached at the collegiate and high school level for 30 years. During his last 16 years at Freeport HS, Bob has taken his team to nine Final Four appearances and four Nassau County championship games. He has earned numerous Coach of the Year honors as well as Sportsmanship awards at both levels. At NY Tech his team won the Big Apple Conference title and a berth in the ECAC tournament. Bob has played and coached in the Empire State Games. Coach DeBonis is a member of the East Meadow HS and CW Post Athletic Halls of Fame as a basketball and baseball player. He has been married to his wife Maggie for 25 years and has two children, Bobby and Stephanie.
